Hypnobirthing is fast becoming a more widely recognised method of birth preparation. We as women are already equipped with everything we need to birth our babies safely and calmly, however over the last few hundred years we have developed many subconscious negative associations about the birth process. This negativity interferes with our belief and confidence in our ability to birth effectively, which leads to tension and pain. Hypnobirthing works to restore positive neural connections and provides tools to keep calm and comfortable so that your body and baby have the opportunity and space to do exactly what they were designed to do.

We will use a variety of effective techniques proven to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress and boost confidence and self-esteem, including relaxation, self-hypnosis, visualisation, massage and breathing. During our sessions we work to identify and release existing fears, and you and your chosen birthing partner(s) will gain a deeper understanding of the physiology and psychology of birth. These elements combined help settle nerves, increase confidence and equips you to negotiate your pregnancy and birth in a calm, confident and controlled manner.

Hypnobirthing can’t guarantee you the birth of your dreams, but it can prepare you to navigate your birth in a calm, relaxed and controlled way. Yay!

Each of the four sessions are a mix of factual information, positive reinforcement and deep relaxation. you will be supplied with relaxation recordings, reference materials and course notes to practice at home, which is essential.

The course can be started at any time during pregnancy, most parents tend to wait until the 20 week point but if you are struggling with severe morning sickness or Anxiety it is a good idea to have a couple of standard Hypnotherapy sessions first. If you are further into pregnancy and cannot fit in 4 sessions, don’t worry! even one session can greatly benefit and reassure both you and your birthing partner on your abilities to birth and parent!
