I can't recommend Nia highly enough

It’s hard to convey just how amazing your sessions are and how much they’ve helped me:
I can’t recommend Nia highly enough. I’ve always suffered with stress and anxiety but it got much worse after I had my daughter 4 years ago and had a big impact on my relationship with her.

I went to Nia for help when I found out I was pregnant with my second child. Within just a few sessions I was able to cope with the demands of motherhood so much better and was able to enjoy my time with my daughter so much more, I also felt more confident about coping with a second child. Closer to my due date I did hypnobirthing with Nia. I was sceptical about it helping at first but actually the techniques I learned were amazing and when I found myself alone in labour at home with only my daughter by my side, I was able to use Nia’s breathing techniques to get through the labour by myself with no pain relief. It wasn’t how I had planned to have my baby but I was able to keep calm and stay in control thanks to what I had learned during hypnobirthing. In fact it worked so well the whole thing was over in 45 minutes!
Since having my second baby I’m still seeing Nia because I find her sessions help me to manage my stress levels, relax and take a bit of time out for myself.
I can’t thank Nia enough, her sessions have changed everything for me. I feel happier, more confident as a mother, I’m sleeping better and I have a much better relationship with my daughter!

The knowledge you had given us helped me relax

My contractions started with general cramping on 31st January. I wasn't really sure if my labour had started, I think I was in denial as I wasn't due for another 11 days. They gradually got more intense through the evening and into the night. I went to bed to get some rest and listened to the hypnobirthing music on loop. I even managed to get some sleep, thankfully! In the morning they were becoming more intense again but I was able to cope well with the breathing techniques and still listening to the music. It was the day we had snow so (my husband) was working from home. I called the hospital around 10am who advised me to stay at home and have a bath as my contractions were not regular enough yet. They gradually became more intense and frequent but the breathing techniques and support from (my husband) helped me cope. At 1:30pm my waters broke so I called the hospital again who told me to come in. Luckily the snow had melted by this point and the roads were quiet. This was the most uncomfortable car journey of my life, feeling every pot hole in Ely! By this point the contractions were really intense and I was starting to get the urge to push. (My Husband) was helping by counting along with my breaths, but instead of counting at my pace he was counting along to the music! Haha! We made it to the hospital and abandoned the car outside the entrance. The midwife checked and I was fully dilated. She started running the birthing pool but there wasn't enough time and my son arrived with 23 mins of being checked! All healthy with no complications or interventions. He was in a rush to meet us :)

I just wanted to thank you for your support and guidance during the hypnobirthing classes. I felt the knowledge you had given us helped me relax and go with my labour which resulted in a positive birth experience for us. You were right that I would have a quick delivery as well!

Thank you so much for the brilliant sessions

So (our baby) arrived 1 day before her due date. Same scenario (with previous births) with waters breaking and a 24 hour plus delay BUT we were home again for most of it and used the pool and managed to relax. The hypnobirthing techniques and your relaxations worked amazingly well, to the extent that the midwife wouldn't send us to delivery suite when we arrived at hospital because she didn't think I was in active labour. I was and (our baby) arrived very soon after (almost in a corridor, but still calm!)
Thank you so much for the brilliant sessions, they should be in all antenatal training for Midwives and mums to be!

I can’t thank you enough

I can’t thank you enough for the help and support in our sessions, it undoubtedly helped!
My waters broke under a full moon at 10pm on Saturday. I had a bath, and at 11:30pm my surges started, almost instantly at 3 minutes apart. Because I could talk through things via phone with the midwife, they told me to wait and come in the following day...2 hours later at 1:30pm my body started to push without me being able to help it. We got into a taxi and arrived at the Heath fully dilated. I had no idea! The midwife came to examine me, thinking I might need to go home, and when she did, the head was on full show. He was born within 30 minutes of arriving at the hospital with only two pushes in front of the midwife. I didn’t even know he had come out of me. My eyes were closed and I was still carrying on with my breathing. The midwife had to ask me to open my eyes twice, and when I did, he was being held up in front of me. I still can’t believe it. I’m not saying it was easy. Going through the surges and pushes at home was a challenge (as he was back to back so the pressure was all over) and it took a lot of focus and hard work, but...without a doubt, I couldn’t have done it without hypno birthing. The midwife said she’d never seen a birth like it and that when hypno birthing works, they have no idea how to read the regular signs of labour, because of the little fuss and control coming from the mother. If our taxi had been late, he would have been born at home! I only realise now, that I was in fact holding him in until we got to the hospital.

I just can’t believe it, and can’t thank you enough for the tools you gave me.

super calm throughout

I was super calm throughout. Everyone kept saying that! The hardest part was the latent labour at home which were excruciating and the only thing which helped was the breathing techniques which kept me on an even keel.  I felt totally in control once I got to hospital and chilled throughout, no melodramatic screaming from my room at least!

Diolch Nia and diolch for making our experience a more positive one, really glad we chose to do hypnobirthing!

A safe, natural delivery with no need for pain relief

Hypnobirthing at The Heath Practice was not only an enjoyable experience but a huge learning curve for me. Nia gave me an insight into what my body was capable of, I had never appreciated what we are naturally capable of without medical intervention. In addition, through the hypnobirthing techniques, Nia gave me the skills I needed to cope with labour and manage the pain naturally which resulted in me being able to enjoy a safe natural delivery with no need for pain relief.

I can honestly say that I enjoyed my labour it was an amazing experience and I believe this was as a result of the benefits of hypnobirthing.

Thank you to Nia.

I can highly recommend Nia

I can highly recommend Nia. She is simply amazing at what she does and I used her techniques through my labour and beyond. I still use the audio at night which helps with a restful sleep, especially with a newborn. Thank you for all your help during my pregnancy. If anyone is anxious about giving birth or medicalised labours I would give Nia a shout.
